Math committee chooses new curriculum

After a comprehensive six-month review, administrators and teachers at Bayfield Middle School and Bayfield High School have identified the math curriculum they believe is best-suited to the needs of students and the community, and have asked the Board of Education to consider adopting it at their next meeting on April 23.

Unified sports is a slam dunk

A few weeks before the win-or-go-home dynamic of March Madness triggered the country’s annual love affair with tournament basketball, a group of students from Bayfield and Durango competed in a tournament where everybody went home a winner.
And they probably developed a deeper and more meaningful love for basketball in the process.

Welcome to Bayfield Middle School

Bayfield Middle School offers students in sixth through eighth grade the opportunity to challenge themselves in the humanities and math/sciences. At the same time, the school understands the value of exploring music, art, career and technical education, and other electives. Students can explore Drama, Wood Shop, Robotics, Junior Police Academy, Science Fair, and more. Athletics and school extracurricular activities complete a well-rounded experience for Bayfield area students.
