They extend earlier understandings of proportional relationships to study linear relationships and work with linear equations in one and two variables. Among other things, they are also introduced to the idea of functions and have their first encounter with irrational numbers. This course unfolds across 9 units that range in length from about 16 to 22 days.

Supplies:

Composition or Notebook, chromebook, pencils

Classroom Procedures:

All school rules apply in this classroom.

Demonstrate RESPECT to peers, teachers, and environment.

F: 0%-59%

Content grades are based on student demonstration of academic achievement; therefore, content grades are:

-Determined by a body of evidence that supports academic achievement of standards in math.

-Determined through the use of multiple assessments over time including: daily work, exit tickets, practice problems, and summative assessments.

*Students are allowed and encouraged to make corrections on assignments when necessary for demonstrating proficiency. Corrections are to be made within 3 days.
