Sixth-grade students will explore the rock cycle by observing real-world rocks and geological features. They will connect their observations to classroom lessons about weathering, erosion, melting, cooling, heat, and pressure.

What students should bring:

  • A lunch—the school will not provide regular or sack lunches
  • Tennis shoes
  • A hoodie or layers appropriate for Silverton weather

Permission slips will be sent home on Monday, September 14, and are due Monday, September 21.

There is no student fee listed for this trip.

Internal staff notes:

  • Approximately 90 students and four staff members will attend.
  • Substitutes are required.
  • All attending staff must enter the trip in RedRover as an “Activity.”
  • The school cost is listed as $5, charged to the sixth-grade account.
