Rationale for the Trip
Our annual ski/snowboard trips are designed to:
• Give students who may not normally have the opportunity a chance to try skiing or snowboarding
• Allow students to experience a different ski resort
• Build teamwork and connection in a fun, outdoor setting
Important Deadlines
ALL paperwork and payment are due by Thursday, December 18.
No late paperwork or payments can be accepted.
We must submit our first round of information the week we return from break.
Trip Dates
6th Grade: January 14
7th Grade: January 28
8th Grade: February 4
Student Costs
Ski: $25
Snowboard: $40
(Snowboard lessons are more limited, which impacts the cost.)
Day-of Logistics
Morning drop-off: Students attending the trip should go straight to the gym.
Equipment:
Students may not bring equipment on the bus.
If bringing personal equipment, parents must drop it off at 7:30 AM.
Departure: Bus leaves 7:45 AM with chaperones.
Return: Bus returns to BMS between 4:30–5:00 PM.
Parents must pick up students.
Paperwork & Advisory Teacher Checklist (For Parent Awareness)
Advisory teachers will:
• Collect paperwork and payments
• Verify all forms are complete (signatures, rental info, ski level, height/weight, shoe size)
• Record students attending/not attending
• Count sack lunches for students who need one
• Keep all student forms together in provided envelopes
• Submit envelopes to Mr. Dodd or Ms. Dennison (not the office)
Frequently Asked Questions
What time do students leave and return?
Depart at 7:45 AM, return around 4:40–5:00 PM.
Can parents attend?
Yes! Parents must purchase their own ticket and drive themselves.
Parent Costs at Wolf Creek:
Lift ticket: $93
Ski rental: $22
Snowboard rental: $32
Lessons: $45
Who collects paperwork and payments?
Advisory teachers. Each grade level will have one teacher coordinating with Dodd and Dennison.
Who are the chaperones?
Final chaperones will be determined based on student participation (approximately 1 per 25 students).
Are lessons required?
Yes. Wolf Creek requires all students to remain with an instructor for the entire day.
Can students attend if they don’t want to ski or snowboard?
Yes. They will spend the day at Base Camp and only need to turn in the BMS permission slip.
