Field trip name: WolfWood Animal Refuge

Description/purpose: This field trip will follow our Survival and Instinct unit, and reading of The Call of the Wild. Students will learn about animal instincts through the tour, and will develop an essay based on research and information gathered from our visit. 

ELA Standards: Reading, Writing, and Communicating standards 3.2.a., 4.1.a, 4.1.c

Date: Tuesday, October 29th 

Location: Wolfwood address not public (between Ignacio and Bondad)  

Leave Time: 8:30 AM      Return Time: 1:30 PM

Grade(s) level: 8th grade Honors ELA    Teachers/Staff: Morningstar

Field trip itinerary: Arrive at Wolfwood at 9:00 AM. Meet the host for intro, safety, and rules. 9:30-11:30 guided tour and information gathering. 11:30-12:00 animal interaction. 12:00-1:00 lunch at picnic area. 1:00 return to school. 1:30 arrive back at school and attend normal classes. 

Cost to student:  $5 - Payable by cash or check (made out to BMS). 

**Return payment and permission slip to your first-period teacher* 

Student should bring:  Lunch, a water bottle,  tennis shoes or hiking boots, layered clothing
