Characters can have many traits (dynamic) or few (flat). They are influenced by their environment and the folks around them. 
Look at the photo  (by Norman Rockwell)  
Choose one of the characters 
Write in 3rd person point of view

Together we will read "My Name" by Sandra Cisneros.
Then we will write our own "My Name" short stories. Where does your name come from? Who named you? Write several paragraphs about your name.
