I have a growth mind set when it comes to working with students and educators. It is more important to me that we learn from our experiences than it is to get everything perfect and right. Not only is it difficult to know what the perfect answer is, student achievement and social emotional health are dynamic, ever-moving targets. I am committed to supporting everyone's opportunity to grow and learn. I will look at the building schedule, course offerings, and instructional strategies and supports with the students' best interests in mind.
I grew up in Montrose, Colorado, where I fell in love with the outdoors and the southwest region. I received my bachelors and masters degrees from the University of Puget Sound. I started my education career in Washington State but returned with my family to Colorado in 2008 for small town life and four lovely seasons. I have taught at both the middle and high school levels in mathematics and science. My educational leadership started with instructional technology facilitation and then I stepped into the position of the principal of the Southwest Colorado eSchool. From these experiences, I decided to join the talented staff of Bayfield Middle School.
