Math is everywhere, be it calculating your retirement number, working as an engineer, or cooking. My goal as a math teacher is to make math applicable and prepare students for life after school, no matter what career path they choose to take.
Algebra
Our focus for Algebra this year is connecting the basics of Algebra I to personal finance. Using personal finance as a vehicle for the curriculum helps to make the concepts more real world, provides a great opportunity for examples, and aids in making the content less theoretical.
Math Lab:
These classes are offered to provide extra support for students who may have gaps or need extra time above and beyond their regular math class. Some of the focuses of this class are reviewing concepts being presented in each students regular math class, going over practical math "hacks", working with our adaptive online program (IXL), and completing real world math projects.
